EFIS — ECO Frequency Information System

The European Communications Office (ECO), which is a part of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT), operates the ECO Frequency Information System (EFIS). EFIS is an information portal for national information on the use of radio spectrum particularly within the countries of CEPT/EU. Management and structure of information stated in EFIS fulfils the EC Decision 2007/344/EC on the harmonised availability of information regarding spectrum use in Europe and the ECC Decision ECC/DEC/(01)03 on EFIS under which Member States of the Community publish and update the specified Radio Spectrum information in the EFIS system.

The EFIS system:

  • enables search and comparison of frequency bands assignment and utilisation in CEPT Member States,
  • refers to CEPT Decisions, Recommendations and other documents relevant to frequency bands,
  • provides specifications of radio interfaces and information on radio spectrum rights of use including possibilities of spectrum trading
