ERO Frequency Information System (EFIS)

European Radiocommunication Office (ERO) launched ERO Frequency Information System in January 2002. This database allows public access via internet on website EFIS and provides valued information source to all subjects interested in radio spectrum use in Europe. The system is supporting European harmonisation and transparency policy as formulated and implemented within CEPT and as stated in relevant Decision of the European Parliament and of the Council on a regulatory framework for radio spectrum policy.

The EFIS database

  • enables search and comparison of frequency bands allocation and utilisation in CEPT member states,
  • refers to CEPT Decisions, Recommendations and other documents relevant to frequency bands,
  • refers to radio interface specifications according to relevant EU Directive and according to various national and international provisions, which are mandatory for frequency bands utilisation.

CEPT members are urged by Decision CEPT/ECC/DEC(01)03 to insert into system the data from their national frequency plans and to maintain them up-to-date. The Decision is implemented by more and more European states.

The Czech National Table of Frequency Allocations is placed in the EFIS from its start and the Czech Telecommunication Office maintains its regular updating.
