Information for cities and municipalities

The operation of new 5G radio mobile networks in the 700 MHz frequency band, which was originally used for the transmission of terrestrial TV, may in some cases adversely affect terrestrial TV reception in a particular location. In such cases, the necessary technical measures must be taken directly at the receiving antenna at the viewer's site. This technical intervention shall be provided by the relevant mobile network operator on the basis of a CTU decision. In order to ensure that citizens are better informed about these facts, including recommendations on what to do in such a situation, an information leaflet will be distributed by CTU and sent to the relevant municipal authority shortly before the launch of the base station in the municipality or city concerned. Further information about the base stations and their locations which are in pilot operation can also be checked on the CTU website - the link is given below:

Information on pilot operation of 4G and 5G mobile base stations.
