according to the Act No. 106/1999 Coll., on free access to information, as amended (hereinafter „Act. No. 106/1999 Coll.“), to the extent and in the structure laid down by Decree No. 512/2020 Coll., laying down the structure of information published about an entity bound by the obligation and the outline of tasks performed within the agenda, as amended.
Applicants for information according to Act No. 106/1999 Coll., have the opportunity to obtain a copy of the published information (Section 5(2) of Act No. 106/1999 Coll.) and also have the opportunity to obtain such information at the place of residence of CTU or at regional departments.

CTU was established on 1 May 2005 by the Act No. 127/2005 Coll., Act on Electronic Communications, as amended, (Act on Electronic Communications) as a central body of state administration for the implementation of state administration of the tasks defined by the Act on Electronic Communicatios, including market regulation and determination of conditions for business activities in electronic communications and postal services. CTU is the successor of the Czech telecommunication office established on 1 July 2000 by the Act No. 151/2000 Coll., on telecommunications, as amended. Before its establishment CTU was part of different ministries. |

Organization structure |
Place of residence of CTU is Prague. CTU performs its functioning by its sections, departments and units. Departments for South Bohemian Region, West Bohemian Region, North Bohemian Region, East Bohemian Region, South Moravian Region and North Moravian Region are detached departments located outside Prague.
Organization structure can be downloaded here. Like other central bodies of state administration, CTU has a separate chapter in the state budget. CTU is an accounting entity. |

Appeals |
The participant is entitled to submit an administrative appeal against the decision issued in the first instance of administrative proceeding within 15 days from notification of this decision. The administrative appeal should be filed at the administrative authority, which issued the decision. The Chairman of the Council of CTU decides about administrative appeal, if he did not make decision in the first instance or the Council of CTU decides, if the Chairman of the Council decided in the first instance.

The superior authority of the CTU have not arbitrate a complaint on dealing with request for information under the Act No. 106/1999 Coll., in the current practice because any such submission has not been received or forwarded. Given the above, any decision according to the Section 16a(2) of the Act is not available. |
