Monthly Monitoring Report No. 4/2021: Providers who don´t meet the conditions of the general authorisation will be sanctioned; not only Czech post is under supervision of the CTU

Prague, 21 April 2021 – In April monitoring report CTU informs that most of Internet access service providers already properly informs their customers about the quality of service. Others will be sanctioned. CTU also informs consumers about the possibility to contact CTU in case of dissatisfaction also with postal services provided by other entities than Czech post.

Already more than 77% of currently active providers of Internet access services have their contract documents in accordance with General Authorization No. VO-S/1/08.2020-9. This 77% of providers represents more than 97% of the market. Providers, who still don´t meet the conditions of the general authorisation after the first quarter of 2021, received a call for remedying the deficiencies and will be sanctioned.

Czech post is still the major provider of postal services, but the involvement of other entities is also increasing. Those, who are undertakings under the Postal Services Act, are also under supervision of the CTU and there is a possibility to contact CTU with an objection to handling of a complaint about their services.
