PRESS RELEASE: Only the Czech Post is applying for the postal licence

Prague, 17 May 2021 – On 17 May, the Czech Telecommunications Office opened the envelope containing the application to the tender for the postal licence holder for the period from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2024. The only entity that submitted the application by the deadline of 11 May 2022 is Česká pošta, s.p., the current postal licence holder.

After verification, CTU found the application has met all the formal requirements. It was then referred to the evaluation committee for assessment and evaluation in accordance with the terms of the invitation to tender. CTU expects that the evaluation by the committee could be completed by the end of June 2022. A notary was present at the envelope opening and certified the envelope opening procedure for the invitation to tender was proper.
