General authorisation

General authorisation is a measure of general nature issued by CTU setting the conditions to exercise communication activities relating to all or certain types of electronic communications networks and services and to operating devices. CTU is authorised to issue a general authorisation for the provision of electronic communications networks and associated facilities, for the provision of electronic communications services, for the operation of devices and for the use of radio frequencies for which an individual authorisation does not have to be granted (Section 9 of the Electronic Communications Act).

General authorisations to use radio frequencies and operate devices

  • General Authorisation VO-R/1/6.2022-6 for the operation of user's terminals of electronic communications radio networks 
  • General Authorisation VO-R/2/05.2018-5 for the use of radio frequencies and for the operation of the stations of wireless local information systems (BMIS) in the 70 MHz frequency band.

  • General Authorisation VO-R/3/6.2016-9 for the use of radio frequencies and the operation of PMR 446 equipment.

  • General Authorisation VO-R/7/11.2016-12 for the use of radio frequencies and for the operation of citizen band radio stations in the 27 MHz band.

  • General Authorisation VO-R/8/08.2005-­23 for the use of radio frequencies and for the operation of DECT-standard cordless telecommunications devices.

  • General Authorisation VO-R/10/07.2021-8 for the use of radio frequencies and for the operation of short range devices 

  • General Authorisation VO-R/12/11.2021-11 for the use of radio frequencies and for the operation of equipment for broadband data transmission in the 2,4 GHz - 71 GHz band (valid from 1 December 2021).
