INVITATION to next Public Stakeholder Workshop on the postal sector

Event Date: 4.6.2019
Location: European Commission, DG GROW, Breydel Auditorium, Avenue d’Auderghem 45, Brussels
Organiser: European Commission

Stakeholders are invited to a one-day workshop hosted by the European Commission. This will be an opportunity to provide input to the ongoing study on the user needs in the postal sector and the evaluation of the Postal Services Directive.

The aims of this study are:

  • to present changing user needs in the postal sector, and possible adaptations, including on the sustainability of the universal service obligation; and

  • to analyse and evaluate the adequacy of the EU postal regulatory framework.

At the workshop, after a presentation and discussion of first study findings on the future development of user needs, based on the surveys and interviews undertaken so far, the objectives are:

  • to obtain input from stakeholders on future user needs; and

  • to obtain input from stakeholders for the assessment of the Postal Services Directive, or selected elements of the Directive.

Attendees will be able to exchange views on these important developments and on the way forward. This information gathering will be done in the form of panel debates, moderated by WIK-Consult, and allow for active public participation. The European Commission will also provide some update on ongoing files.

The workshop will take place from 09.30 - 15.30 (CET).

A draft agenda will be regularly updated.

Please register at the latest by 28/05.

This invitation will also be published in a few days on the EC website.
