Establishment

The Independent Regulators Group (IRG) was established in 1997.

Tasks

IRG is a forum of European National Regulatory Authorities for direct and open sharing of information and experience.

Structure

IRG associates national regulatory bodies of European countries, including non-EU members. The Head of IRG is the Chairman (in accordance with practice it’s the same person who chairs BEREC) assisted by the Board in exercising their duties. Communication and cooperation among members is ensured by the IRG Secretariat with premises in Brussels. 

CTU became a regular member and participant at meetings from 1 January 2003.
