PRESS RELEASE: CTU published a guide for the providers of online platforms and online search engines

Prague, 5 May 2023 - CTU publishes an online guide to help providers of online intermediary services and online search engines in particular to understand the new obligations arising from Regulation (EU) 2019/1150, which was implemented into Czech legal order by Act No. 58/2023 Coll., amending the Act on Certain Information Society Services. This Act came into force on 23 March 2023. The legislation affects, among others, online marketplaces, price comparison tools or sales and booking platforms. CTU acts as supervisory authority over compliance with the regulation.

In the guide on this page, undertakings have the opportunity to get acquainted with the CTU's preliminary non-binding interpretation of the Regulation. It contains an overview of the main obligations of providers under the P2B Regulation; a definition of who is affected by the new obligations; and a more detailed commentary on selected provisions, including illustrative examples and references to related regulations and European Commission Recommendations.

"Communicating with entities with new obligations is an important part of the open and transparent work of CTU. I will be glad if our guide helps to improve the understanding of the so called P2B Regulation among the affected undertakings," said Marek Ebert, CTU Council Chairman.
