Recommendation to end users

 

  1. All telecommunications equipment placed on the market after 1.5.2004 must have the following particulars:
  •  a copy of a Declaration of Conformity issued by the manufacturer, importer or person responsible for placing the product on the market of the EU according to Government Regulation No. 426/2000 Coll., laying down the technical requirements on radio terminal equipment and on telecommunications terminal equipment, as amended (hereinafter referred to as “GR No. 426") or according to Directive 1999/5/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 1999 on radio equipment and telecommunications terminal equipment and the mutual recognition of their conformity (Directive 1999/5/EC) for each product (this declaration may also be enclosed in electronic format - on CD or by stating the website at which the declaration of conformity is published);
  • In the case that the declaration of conformity is not in Czech (for example, in the instructions for use), a statement in Czech that the manufacturer represents that the product conforms to the basic requirements and other relevant provisions of GR No. 426 or Directive 1999/5/EC (this statement must also be enclosed if the Declaration of Conformity for the product is not in written format);
  • the European conformity mark “CE” on the product and on the packaging and in the instructions for use;
  • an indication of the type, batch production number and name of the manufacturer or the person responsible for placing the apparatus on the market stated on the product;
  • information about the way and conditions of use on the packaging of the equipment (i.e. for radio equipment, information about the EU countries in which the equipment may be operated without restriction or based on an individual licence; for terminal equipment, information on the telecommunication networks to which the equipment may be connected);
  • instructions for use in Czech.

2. Telecommunications equipment placed on the market before 1.4.2003 within the system of approval can still be sold and put into operation within the scope of validity of their Decision of Approval. Approved products must have the following particulars:

  • a double-sided, clear and distinct copy of a decision (certificate) of approval for the equipment bearing the approval mark (symbol) of the approval body;
  • an approval mark (symbol) on the product, on its packaging and in the instructions for use;
  • Instructions for use in Czech containing information about the way and conditions of use on the packaging of the equipment (i.e. for radio equipment, a reference to the relevant general licence; for terminal equipment, information on the telecommunication networks in the Czech Republic to which the equipment may be connected).

List of marks that must be shown on a product:

  1. telecommunications terminal equipment, radio sets, radio broadcasting equipment intended for operation in the EU without restriction (covered by the general authorisations of individual countries:
    CE
  2. telecommunications terminal equipment, radio sets, radio broadcasting equipment intended for operation in the EU without restriction (covered by the general authorisations of individual countries), if a notified person took part in assessment:

    CE 9999

  3. radio broadcasting equipment intended for operation within the EU with certain restrictions (individual licence or operating ban in at least one Member State - in this case a list of EU Member States in which the equipment may be operated must be stated in the instructions for use):  
    CE !
  4. radio broadcasting equipment intended for operation within the EU with certain restrictions (individual licence or operating ban in at least one Member State - in this case a list of EU Member States in which the equipment may be operated must be stated in the instructions for use), if a notified person took part in assessment:  
    CE 9999 !

(the number of the specific notified person is stated in each case instead of “9999”)

One of these marks must be shown on each product placed on the market after 1.5.2004!
